AT A GLANCE
This project explores a moment of human error, guilt, and transformation set in the time the Ajanta caves were being built. The story follows six observers who accidentally damage a sculpture and attempt to hide their mistake. While they escape immediate consequence, the truth resurfaces and one of them returns and makes amends to the mistake.

THE USE OF AI
- ChatGPT for narrative development.
- Gemini for generating the comic panel by panel.
- Google Flow for animating the static comic.
- Suno.ai to generate background sounds.
THE NARRATIVE
This narrative is set within the Ajanta caves during the Vakataka period and builds a fictional narrative around a small mistake. The story follows six time-travelling observers who visit the caves to document and understand the sculptural process. In a moment of carelessness, they damage a part of the reclining Buddha statue and attempt to conceal it through a temporary repair. While they managed to leave without being confronted, the sculptor later discovers the damage. The turning point of the story is when one of the girls returns, confesses, and accepts responsibility. Instead of punishment, she is given a chisel by the sculptor and learns how to carve stone under the sculptor's guidance and ultimately restores the statue.
MOODBOARD

The visual tone of this project comes from photographs I captured in Aurangabad during my visit to the caves. The colour palette for the comic was directly drawn from these images: warm tones, browns, reds, beige etc. The goal was to keep the visuals grounded in the reality of the caves, ensuring the comic felt authentic rather than stylized.
